An unforgettable camping adventure.

Whether glamping or traditional camping, the days are yours to savor. Relax on island time or make the most of every minute kayaking, inshore fishing, exploring private beaches, or boating. Allow the Private Islands of Georgia crew to customize activities for your outdoor adventure.

  • Boating. Captain Andy will provide round trip boat transportation, or Bring Your Own Boat and he’ll introduce you to the Darien River, Intracoastal Waterway, and Doboy Sound. The Atlantic Ocean is only 15 minutes from Eagle Island. Boat rentals are available.
  • Fishing. We’ll arrange offshore fishing or inshore fishing charters. Bring Your Own Boat and let Captain Andy show you the local fish drops for trout, red fish, or anchor in the Sound and catch what the Atlantic Ocean has to offer.
  • Kayaking. Explore the Darien River, Mayhall Creek or Rhetts Island before beaching your kayak on the sandy bank of Escape Island. Local outfitter Altamaha Coastal Tours offers kayak rentals. Our crew will transport your kayaks to the island, so load your kayaks and leave the rest to us for a great coastal Georgia experience.
  • Eco Tours/Birding. Wildlife viewing is excellent at Escape Island. During late fall and winter nearby Rhetts Island is home to an amazing number of wintering waterfowl; bald eagles are seen year-round. Wading birds such as great blue herons, American egrets and more are common in the area. Manatees frequent the Altamaha River area during summer and otters often play in and around the island.
  • Crabbing. “Blue crab: All you can catch. All you can eat,” says Captain Andy. We supply the bait and blue crab baskets so you can catch and enjoy the sweet taste of this Coastal Georgia favorite.
